Course Information
Crane-Truck Integration & Vehicle Systems
Truck mounted crane types and applications. Chassis integration, PTO systems, and hydraulic power take-off. Vehicle stability and axle load distribution. South African road traffic regulations for crane-equipped vehicles. Daily pre-trip inspection procedures.
Load Charts, Stabilisation & Site Safety
Reading load charts for truck-mounted configurations. Ground assessment and stabiliser mat placement. Working near overhead power lines and traffic. Load securing, lashing techniques, and centre of gravity. Customer site safety and access protocols.
Setup, Stabilisation & Basic Lifts
Vehicle positioning and stabiliser deployment. Cab control familiarisation and display panels. Basic boom extension, derricking, and slewing. First supervised lifts with load attachment and placement. Ground rigger communication and hand signals.
Multi-Drop Operations & Precision Work
Loading, securing, and transporting cargo between sites. Unloading and precision placement at simulated customer locations. Working in confined delivery areas and near structures. Emergency procedures and safe shutdown sequences. Refuelling and maintenance checks.
Assessment & Certification
Independent practical competency evaluation covering all learned skills. Oral assessment on road safety and load chart knowledge. Certificate and operator licence card briefing, plus job application guidance for logistics and construction employers.
